I highly recommend homeschooling. I homeschooling both of my son's. One is gifted and one is special needs, so I had to use completely different techniques and curriculum, but both thrived and we grew closer as a family.

I was able to teach each based on their learning methods and interests. I was able to go fast and not bore them with busy work when they understood. I was able to slow down and teach to mastery when something was difficult. We were able to go off on a tangent and learn together when we found something interesting.

My eldest is finishing the 2nd year of his double major in computer science and math with straight A's, in the honors program, on a full scholarship. My youngest may never leave home. Both benefitted from homeschooling. It was one of the best decisions in my life.

Don't be afraid of homeschooling. There are so many resources available, some cheap or free.

Public education is a disaster as well as healthcare for our kids. Happy both topics have started to be discussed. We must fix this.

"Only a fool would let his enemy teach his children" -Malcolm X

We need a mass migration away from the public indoctrination centers, the future of America depends on it! They rewrite history with their woke ideology. The FDA and medical establishment destroy testosterone levels. The media is programmed deception with political correctness and propaganda.

All to neuter American so they willingly hand over their freedoms and become slaves without a fight! The soy boy snowflakes won’t step away from their comfort zones and entertainment to get into the fight that so many fought and died for, it’s all by design!

What will the future have to say about this generation!?! "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety"-Benjamin Franklin

That Ben Franklin quip is by far one of my favorite and one I turned to often during the COVID lockdowns a few years back.

Living in the East Bay of the SF Bay Area I hope and pray my daughter will homeschool her children or send them to private school. The schools in Walnut Creek are exceptional (which is why they bought a fixed upper) but we all know that the ideology today is sneaky and often overlooked or excused away. I pray that at the first sign of anything woke or gender-bs that they will pull their kids and protect them.

No public schools are exceptional and few private ones are.

The “dumbing down” of the public education system in America started long before the Clintons: https://workflowy.com/s/beyond-covid-19/SoQPdY75WJteLUYx#/7653dee43838

In fact, at the outset our educational system was designed simply to produce cannon fodder: https://workflowy.com/s/beyond-covid-19/SoQPdY75WJteLUYx#/09180fb53159

I like what you implied about the strength in numbers here. Sometimes, I feel it's easy to forget. When we go anywhere in town, for example, we're often faced with quite a few parents, teachers, and people generally wearing the colors and logos of the local public school.

That can create an illusion that there are way more of them than there are of us. Not to mention, I'd met very few homeschooled kids in the area - even if those few I have talked with are far more knowledgeable, talkative, and even possess a broader understanding of extensive subjects - like mythology, for example.

Still, one look online and you'll see that there indeed are way more advocates out there for home or alternative types of schooling. For me, it's a relief to see. I don't have any kids yet, but if that day ever came, a well-tailored program to fit their interests and passions would be the way to go. Not the artificial "learning environment" public schools like to champion.
