I have said before, listening to an intellectual’s view of how the world should be run is a lot like taking advice from an expert in the Lord of the Rings (like Stephen Colbert) -or someone who has given up on life and living in their parent’s basement. It is just not a good idea. I am not chiding LOTR, fantasy, or even sci-fi. I enjoy all of them. But they have their place. It is not useful to listen to the advice of someone who lives in their head and suffers no consequences for the implementation of those ideas.
Thomas Sowell has said as much himself.
However, if you wish to live that way, you can waste tens of thousands of dollars on a college degree in the humanities to fully achieve that total isolation from reality. But I wouldn’t recommend it.
