DEI is mental illness wrapped up in Marxist Critical Theory packaging. The bow on top is the belief that all feelings are justified, regardless of how irrational they may be.
At least that's what guys like James Lindsay, Christopher Rufo, and Eric Weinstein had to say recently.

This is a terrible thing to tell the Cluster-B personality disorder types that CRT enthusiasts use as their henchmen. Those types include borderline, histrionic, antisocial, and narcissistic disorders.
If I could sum up all four I would say the most common traits are attention-seeking, self-centered, rage enthusiasts. But then again, maybe we are just defining Marxists, progressives, and the rest of the CRT cult.…

If someone has one of these mental illnesses I feel sorry for them. For their mental health, I recommend staying far away from humanities departments.
However, as you’ve probably already heard, Florida just fired all its Marxist DEI brown shirts.

Peace on Earth, good will to men
This is one of the first positive things I have heard about DEI in a while. Florida is about to start a positive trend that could envelop the country (well, maybe just the red states).
We should rejoice over the elimination of DEI in Florida.
